Biography

I am an Australian artist, born in Brisbane, and I have lived in London, Istanbul, Sydney and Zurich. I am currently living and working once again in Hong Kong, where I previously lived for four years.

I make large-scale, mixed-media drawings on paper. My work begins with drawings of architectural features from the built environment. I then reconfigure these in different combinations to create abstract compositions. My working process involves making and un-making, constructing then de-constructing these elements, disrupting the representational aspects of the drawing.

I studied Visual Arts at Middlesex University in London and completed a Master of Fine Art (Drawing) in Sydney at the National Arts School, where I subsequently worked as a sessional lecturer.

My work has been showcased in solo and group exhibitions in Europe (Switzerland and Germany), in south-east Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China); as well as in Australia. I was honoured to be one of 64 finalists considered for the Dobell Drawing Prize 2023. My work is also included in The Drawing Center New York’s online drawing archive.

I have participated in artists’ residencies including Redgate Gallery (Beijing), Artspace (Sydney), Bundanon (Nowra, NSW), Taipei Artists’ Village (Taipei) and the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris).
